JANUARY

December 31, 2007 and January 1, 2008 (Beijing, China): Kathleen Battle joins Seiji Ozawa, the China National Symphony Orchestra, and Chinese pianist Lang Lang in celebrating the opening of the new National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing.

 
MARCH
  • March 25, 2008 at 7:30pm (Pabst Theater, Milwaukee, WI): As part of the Artist Series at the Pabst, Kathleen Battle performs in recital, with Ted Taylor on the piano. Read the review here.

  • March 30, 2008 at 2pm (Orchestra Hall of the Minnesota Orchestra, Minneapolis, MN): Kathleen Battle performs in recital, with Ted Taylor on piano.
 
APRIL
  • April 7, 2008 at 8pm (Long Center for the Performing Arts, Austin, TX): This performing arts center opens in March 2008. To help celebrate this special occasion, Kathleen Battle performs in recital.

  • April 13, 2008 at 2pm (Carnegie Hall, New York, NY): In one of the world's most accoustically perfect halls and where the world's greatest artists perform, Kathleen Battle returns and performs with Ted Taylor on piano and Daniel Swenberg on the theorbo, no doubt reminiscent of her special collaboration with guitarist Christopher Parkening. This will be a special recital you won't want to miss! See the program here.

MAY
  • May 1, 2008 at 7:30pm (Harrison Opera House, Norfolk, VA): Kathleen Battle performs in recital as part of the 12th Annual Virginia Arts Festival.

  • May 8, 2008 at 7:00pm (Carnegie Hall, New York, NY): Kathleen Battle joins Sting, Billy Joel, James Taylor, Feist and others to perform and raise funds for Rainforest Foundation Fund Benefit founded by Sting.

  • May 16, 2008 and May 19, 2008 at 8:30pm ( Rio de Janeiro, Brazil): Kathleen Battle performs two nights with the Brazilian Symphonic Orchestra and the Children's Choir of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), conducted by Roberto Minczuk.
 
JULY

July 19, 2008 at 8:30pm ( Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center, Westhampton Beach, NY): Kathleen Battle and gifted pianist Ted Taylor offer a diverse program of song, including Schubert, Mendelssohn, Previn, Gershwin, Stevie Wonder, and Spirituals.

 
NOVEMBER
  • November 7, 2008 at 7:30pm ( Branscomb Auditorium at Florida Southern College Festival of Fine Arts, Lakeland, FL): Kathleen Battle performs in recital. (There will be a Pre-Concert 30-minutes Lecture held in the Anne MacGregor Jenkins Recital Hall beginning at 6:45 pm.)

  • November 16, 2008 at 2pm (Roy Thomson Hall. Toronto, Ontario, Canada): As part of the 08-09 International Vocal Recitals series, Kathleen Battle performs in recital.
 
DECEMBER
  • December 14,, 2008 at 3:00pm (The Cannon Center for the Performing Arts, Memphis, TN): Kathleen Battle, in collaboration with jazz saxophone virtuoso and Memphis native Kirk Whalum, perform a program of classical, holiday, secular and spiritual favorites. The concert also features the Snowden Middle School and White Station Middle School choirs. This special event is presented by Cultural Arts for Everyone.
